Coagulation

The Coagulation Laboratory performs routine and specialised
haemostasis testing for the diagnosis of bleeding disorders and
thrombotic conditions in children. We are actively involved in
clinical trials.
The laboratory works in close association with the Haemophilia
Comprehensive Care Centre, providing a complete service to diagnose
and monitor the treatment of bleeding disorders. This includes
factor assays, inhibitor surveillance, platelet aggregation and
nucleotides.
We offer a service to monitor anticoagulants, including warfarin
and both unfractionated and low molecular weight therapeutic
heparin.
The laboratory provides specialised investigations both to the
hospital and to a number of other external health care
providers.
External health care providers can access results
